Gymnastics and More is an AWESOME place where our trained staff use safe and progressive teaching techniques in the ULTIMATE gymnastics environment! Our unsurpassed facility is equal in size to four basketball courts (22,000 sf)! It is especially designed to accommodate all levels of gymnastics.
Gymnastics & More offers the "ULTIMATE" gymnastics experience! Our 23,000sf state-of-the-art facility, is one of the largest gyms on the east coast! Gym & More proudly provides superb toddler, pre-school and recreational classes for both boys and girls. In addition, Gymnastics and More is also one of the most well-renowned competitive Boys and Girls teams on the east coast!
The gym has many safety features: "Dismount Pits" filled with foam blocks, in-ground trampoline, a power tumbling strip and multiple sets of both men's and women's Olympic events! Our AWESOME pre-school program uses all the gymnastics apparatus along with specially designed pre-school equipment including ladders, wedges, Jr. Bars, slides, trapezoids, parachutes and much MORE!
We are prepared to offer quality gymnastics instruction at all levels. Whether your child wants gymnastics for fun and coordination development or for competition, our staff and facility will provide a quality program to meet all your needs All instructors are Safety Certified through USA Gymnastics. We are dedicated to the development of each child's maximum potential.
History
Gymnastics and More opened its doors in 1992. It has since grown into one of the most successful gymnastics schools in New England. Owners, Dan and Jen Scannell have owned and operated the gym since 1995. Both were former competitive gymnasts from youth through college.
Dan, a former Tennessee State Champion, attended the University of Tennessee where he studied Wildlife Management and Physical Education. Dan was also the team captain for the UT Men's Team. Dan has been teaching and coaching boys and girls gymnastics since 1979. Dan is the head coach for the Gym & More girl's Junior Olympic team(s) Levels 4-10.
Jen competed at the Elite Level from age 13-16 for MarVaTeens in Maryland. She earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Maryland where she earned a B.A. in Dance. Jen was the assistant coach for the women's team at the University of Nebraska for 2 years and moved back east to continue her coaching at the "Club" level.
